About the Founder – Susan Kaitesi

A Journey of Compassion, Leadership, and Service

Every great organization begins with a purpose. For Susan Kaitesi, Founder and Owner of SuBon Home Care, that purpose has always been to serve others with compassion, dignity, and excellence.

SuBon Home Care was founded on the belief that every senior deserves the opportunity to age safely, comfortably, and independently in the place they love most—their home. This mission is deeply personal to Susan and is reflected in every aspect of the care SuBon Home Care provides to families across Northern Virginia, including Chantilly, Fairfax, Manassas, Ashburn, Centreville, Herndon, and surrounding communities.

Today, Susan leads SuBon Home Care with a commitment to delivering personalized, non-medical home care services that improve quality of life while giving families peace of mind.

A Passion for Helping Others

Susan Kaitesi, Owner of SuBon Home Care

A Lifetime of Leadership, Service, and Compassion

Susan's passion for caregiving did not begin when she opened SuBon Home Care—it began years earlier through experiences that shaped her life and leadership.

As a young leader, Susan served as a Staff Prefect at Kigali International Academy, where she learned the importance of responsibility, integrity, and serving others. During her university years, she continued developing her leadership skills as the Public Relations Officer for the University Women Association at the National University of Rwanda.

She also volunteered as a mentor with FAWE Rwanda (Forum for African Women Educationalists), encouraging and empowering young girls in secondary schools to pursue education, leadership, and personal growth.

These early experiences taught Susan that true leadership is measured by how much you improve the lives of others—a principle that continues to guide SuBon Home Care today.

The Personal Story Behind SuBon Home Care

In Loving Memory of Susan Kaitesi Mother.

A Personal Caregiving Journey That Inspired Our Mission

Susan understands the challenges families face because she has lived them herself.

While attending college, she became the primary caregiver for her mother during her courageous battle with breast cancer. During this difficult season, Susan cared for her mother while her family struggled to meet medical expenses. She remained by her mother's side until her final moments.

This experience transformed her understanding of caregiving.

She learned firsthand that families need more than assistance—they need compassion, dependable support, dignity, encouragement, and someone they can trust.

That personal journey remains one of the strongest inspirations behind SuBon Home Care's mission of treating every client like family.

Professional Experience in Senior and Disability Care

Professional Experience That Built a Foundation of Excellence

Before founding SuBon Home Care, Susan built an extensive career supporting seniors and adults living with disabilities within the human services field.

She served in leadership roles including:

  • Residential Supervisor
  • Program Coordinator
  • House Manager

These positions allowed her to oversee quality care, mentor caregiving teams, coordinate individualized support plans, and advocate for vulnerable adults.

Working closely with seniors and individuals with disabilities strengthened her belief that personalized care helps people maintain independence, confidence, and dignity.

These experiences became the professional foundation upon which SuBon Home Care was built.

Education, Vision, and the Foundation of SuBon Home Care

Turning Academic Knowledge into Compassionate Community Care

Susan combines compassion with strong academic preparation.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Finance, gaining valuable knowledge in organizational management and financial stewardship.

She later completed an MBA in Economic Development, where SuBon Home Care first began as an economic development project.

What started as an academic vision soon became a licensed home care agency dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and strengthening communities throughout Northern Virginia.

Susan believes quality home care not only transforms lives—it also creates jobs, supports families, and contributes to healthier, more connected communities.
